Sailboat en route to Lord Howe Island, Art  Jonker, 2007.
12" X 16" Oil on Canvasette
This painting was inspired by a photograph taken by a friend on a trip to Lord Howe Island (750 km northeast of Sydney, Australia).  Art Jonker began with an interest in painting the sailboat but found that the waves were to him much more fascinating.  He experimented with abstract forms for the waves and imagined each one as having a life of its own.
